How to play Noillirk Daily

Every prompt names a category that has many right answers. You are not trying to be right, or clever: you are trying to give the answer most people would give.

One round, step by step

  1. Read the prompt, for example Name a zoo animal.
  2. Type one answer and submit it within 30 seconds.
  3. If we don't recognise it, it's refused and you can try another while the clock runs.
  4. The result shows your band, your points, how many people joined you, and the board's top five.

You can pass at any time. A pass or a timeout scores 0, and the next prompt starts.

Which answers count

Any real member of the category that is on our list counts, not only the famous ones. Small differences don't matter: capital letters, accents, a missing "the", a plural, a common nickname or a typo or two in a longer word are all matched to the right entry. "Beagle dog" is read as "Beagle".

If a perfectly good answer is refused, we probably haven't listed it yet. Refused answers are logged anonymously and we use them to grow the lists.

The board

Each prompt has a board: our estimate, written in advance, of how 100 people would answer, from the most common (#1) down. The top ten are the board; every other answer we accept is Off the Board and still scores a little. The board is not a live count of players, so it is the same all day.

The Daily

Ten prompts, the same for everyone on the same date. New prompts arrive at midnight in your time zone. At the end you get a title, your total, how high the krill climbed and how you compare with that day's other players.

Streaks

Finish a Daily each day to keep your streak. It is saved in your browser, so play on the same device to keep it growing.

Unlimited

Unlimited deals random prompts in runs of 10, 20 or endless. It's free and doesn't touch your streak.

Exact points are on the scoring page. To see how past boards looked, open yesterday's answers.
